Dateline: Annapolis, MD. It’s Wednesday, so it must be the ‘cruisers breakfast’ at Chick and Ruth’s Diner. This is a local landmark diner. It’s small, crowded, loud and it’s painted with bold highlights of orange. There is a booth reserved for the Governor. We went to the weekly breakfast, and sure enough the former Governor was in the booth. The food was relatively bad but it was great fun. At 8:30 sharp, everybody in the place stands up and recites the Pledge of Allegiance. Pretty cool!
